This is unbelievably amazing. ((Luceti, meet Leaf. Or, at least, meet Leaf's high-pitched, out-of-breath-from-pure-excitement voice.))

Oh, hi, I'm Leaf, and this is the first time I'm using one of these journal post things, but that's boring. You know what's not boring? There's an entire world out there, waiting for us to explore it! And even better? That Romaeus guy needs things.

((She'll wait a moment, just to let it sink in.)) Things! He needs resources for research! If there's something that Leaf, Champion of Kanto is good at, it's finding things for people doing research. I'm kind of an expert on it, trust me.

So who's going to come with me? I can't even begin to decide where I want to go first, and exploring is way more fun with other people!

((She waits for a couple seconds, then says--)) Just respond to this thing, I guess, and we can make an exploration team! We'll probably have to draw our own map. This is literally the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Though- I should stop talking now so that you can respond. ((Yes, Leaf, that would be good.))

The champion of Kanto? We've been blessed with that sort of talent around us already?! I didn't even know Kanto had a champion!

Of course, Kanto has a Champion. It's me!

...I mean, I suppose there are others, because of all the different worlds or whatever. But I'm the Champion in my world, so that counts.

But what are you even the champion of?! I'm not sure the Kanto I'm from has one!

The Champion of the Indigo League, of course. What do you mean, your Kanto doesn't have one? What happened?

Indigo League... eto. I'm going to assume you're referring to a Kanto that has Pokémon in it. Which, alas, my own does not. So that would be your answer, actually.

A Kanto without pokémon? That sounds... horrible.

I'm so sorry. ((She's 100% serious.))

[ That. ... You know he should have expected it. A lot of people from Pokémon worlds tend to think of one without one as being abnormal. It figures that he'd get an apology at some point or another. But as it is, he just laughs it off, perhaps a tad on the awkward side ]

Hahah~ It's a world devoid of them, I'm afraid, so there's no reason that one region of one island would be any different. That's like apologizing to a fish for not breathing air.

Oh... I guess that makes sense that there'd be a world like that! It's still a little sad, but at least you can meet pokémon here!

And, uh, what's your name?

More worlds than you'd expect, actually.

[ But he laughs it off. ] Masaomi Kida, though. It's my pleasure to meet you, Leaf-chan.

Nice to meet you! So have you been here very long? Here in Luceti, I mean.

What a first question! But, to answer you... yes! I'd have to say that I have been here "very long" at this point! One, two, three, four! Four years now! Four and a half, really.

[Kanto and champion stand out immediately. Interesting.]

Didn't realize we had another pokémon champion in the village.

Yup! I think I must be the newest arrival. It's pretty cool how there are a bunch of pokémon trainers here! I love meeting new people.

Meeting new people is an upside of this place.

You wouldn't happen to know Red by any chance?

Yeah, of course I know him! He's from Kanto too. I mean, not the same version of Kanto as me, but we've met!

Are you his friend?

We are. [Even if it's true, it still feels weird to say. Not because he's a kid (okay, maybe a little), but because friends are complicated.] One Red, at least. He said there was another kid named Red.

I'm Ginia. I'm still figuring out travel plans with some others, but more are always welcome.

Which Red do you know, then?

It's nice to meet you! I kinda want to explore with my pokémon, but I figured it would be super cool to have someone come along with me for a change.

The one with Pikachu, Snorlax, and Venusaur. [That should be distinctive enough, right? Unless the two Reds has the exact same pokémon. Wouldn't that be even more confusing.]

With how little we know about this place, you'd definitely want company out there. It could get pretty dangerous out there.

[A pause.]

But you've probably had lots of adventures and danger on the road to becoming champion.

We're talking about the same one then!

Yeah, I've seen my fair share of dangerous things on my journey, I guess. But the exciting new things totally make up for that! And I'm not that scared.

Good to know. He's a good kid.

Less about being scared, more about safety when it comes to this place. [The Third Party may not be an issue at this time, but that doesn't mean everyone or everything is friendly. Shift hunters may still be a thing and there's nothing pleasant about an undead dog the size of a horse coming after you.] But it'll be fun seeing what's out there.

There can't be that much that's unsafe about this place! At least, not too much that my pokémon and I can't take it on.

It'll just be fun to explore the world. It's like having a whole new region to journey through!

[Maybe, maybe not. Ginia knows she's being over-cautious and maybe things aren't as dangerous now, but being cautious has saved her life too.]

What kind of pokémon do you have here?

I have a farfetch'd named Ch'Ding, a squirtle named Splash, and a Steelix named Rocky! Uh... they look like a bird, a little blue pokémon with a shell, and a rock snake respectively! They're the best pokémon a girl could dream of having as partners.

[The descriptions give a very rough idea of what they look like, certainly no sense of size at all. But a start is better than nothing and as always, it's amazing hearing about the variety of pokémon.]

They sound great. There's no such thing as pokémon in my world so I like hearing about the different kinds.

Really? Wow! Then you're basically a pokémon researcher person, if you think about it. I'd be happy to introduce you to my pokémon, so that you could see more of them!

[A pokémon researcher... Ginia's never thought about it in that light before. Meeting new pokémon, learning all about them, comparing them to animals in her world. Briefly, she wonders what her life would be like if she lived in a world with pokémon.]

Given the opportunity, pokémon researcher sounds like it would be a fun job. I would love to meet them too, at your convenience.

I know a bunch of pokémon researchers! I actually lived near a pokémon lab with a professor and everything. It's a super cool job. It's not for me, but it could be for you.

I actually had a research-like job in my world. Mostly looking up information and making plans. It suited me. I guess I might have been a pokémon researcher if they were in my world.

You should start doing it here! There are a bunch of people with pokémon. You could totally observe and take notes or whatever.

If the pokémon trainers don't mind, I wouldn't mind doing that, but I'm not sure I'd notice anything that isn't already documented in some way. Or if it's anything people would be interested in reading.

[Not that a lack of interest by others is a reason to not do something. Ginia knows it would be interesting on a personal level, but it's also a lot of work with no visible benefit.]

It doesn't have to be interesting for other people! You can just do it for yourself, and that would be cool too.

[...That's definitely an extremely familiar voice. It's younger and a little more excitable than he's used to, but that definitely sounds like Blue to him.

Yet she's saying her name's Leaf. And more than that-]

You're the Champion?

Yep! I mean... not in every world, I guess. Which kind of sucks. But in my world, I am!

That's impressive. [She's... she's really cheerful...]

((The overwhelming cheerfulness is kind of a constant with this one.)) Aw, thanks! That's really nice of you. What's your name?

[He's starting to realize that. Maybe it's a champion requirement.]

Silver. [Talk about a face he'd never thought he'd have to introduce himself to.]

Silver? It's nice to meet you! Or, well, hear you.

So are you from a world with pokémon too?

It's nice to hear you too. [He thinks. Um.] And of course. My world's full of Pokémon.

[Years keep passing here, yet he still can't imagine coming from a world without them...]

Cool! What pokémon do you have here? Which region are you from? I’ve never left Kanto before, and there are so many pokémon out there I haven’t seen. It kinda sucks.

[Well isn't she the little go getter!]

I'd love to go exploring with you, Leaf.

[So she can keep an eye on you, for one thing.]

Absolutely.

Saori! ((Isn't it nice to hear your name said so happily like this?)) I was hoping you'd like to come along! Now you can see a pokémon trainer in action.

[Nevermind that she's seen Red. And Ash. and Gold. And numerous others...]

Well, I'd like that a lot. I'm planning on traveling, of course, and I'd like to see more of what you can do too. And I can get us places much faster than by foot.

((But has she seen them on their journey? That's when a pokémon trainer is really in action, y'know.))

Oh, yeah! By cloud traveling! I can go pretty fast on Rocky's back, but I think cloud travel would be even faster.

We don't want to go too fast, though. The point of exploring is to stop and smell the roses sometimes!

Of course. But the point of going out is to locate resources.

[There's a smile in her words though, she totally gets it, Leaf.]

But there are plenty of sites worth seeing. Sirry Crags before the enemy takes over might be very, very pretty.

We'll see them all! No one can stop us, right? It'll be the best!

And don't worry about the resources. I've found so many things before, it's practically my second job after being a pokémon trainer. We'll be able to find all the things perfectly fine!

[Leaf you are the sweetest!]

Well I certainly hope so. I suppose I should just leave that up to you then, hmm?

[She will, actually, because she doesn't want Leaf to feel like she's not being taken seriously. Saori knows just how bad it is to undervalue children.]

Yup. You can help too, though! Of course you can. I'll teach you how to be a good finder of things. ((She announces this, laughing a little by the end of the sentence.)) We're going to have so much fun.

[Oh how wonderful children are, so enthusiastic! She smiles and nods, agreeing with this plan readily enough. No point in arguing...]
